Warrington Youth Zone Team Day – October 2023

In October, our team had the unique opportunity to step away from the usual office setting and embark on a day of growth and camaraderie. Our destination was the Warrington Youth Zone, where we were greeted with a warm welcome and an inspiring agenda.

We commenced our day in one of the Youth Zone’s high-quality meeting rooms, providing the perfect backdrop to share updates and insights from various corners of our business. The highlight of our morning was a thought-provoking workshop led by our HR manager, Amrit Gata-Aura.

Before breaking for lunch, we had the privilege of meeting Dave McNicholl, the Chief Executive of Warrington Youth Zone. Dave offered a fascinating glimpse into the organisation’s history, tracing its roots from the Warrington Boys Club, opened in 1950 by HRH Princess Margaret, to its current transformation into the vibrant Warrington Youth Zone. It was clear that this journey was made possible by the unwavering support of the local community, with special recognition to Nick “Hoppy” Hopkinson.

Following a delicious lunch, we enjoyed exploring the Youth Zone’s impressive facilities, guided by Marie Howorth, the Business Administration Manager, and her team. The afternoon’s highlight was an exciting competition where the Eternal Engagements team was split into two groups.

The activities ranged from scaling climbing walls to inflatable darts, curling, miniature golf, and even a penalty shoot-out. The competition was fierce, and the energy was infectious. Ultimately, we celebrated the victorious team comprising Carl, Emma, Joe, and Hannah. Congratulations!

Our team left the Warrington Youth Zone with hearts full of gratitude and excitement for the future. We are eager to continue supporting this incredible organisation in any way possible.

We want to thank the entire Warrington Youth Zone team for opening your doors to us and creating a day filled with laughter and teamwork.

We look forward to our continued partnership and the positive impact we can create together.

Unlocking the Power of Dyslexia: Embracing Neurodiversity

Welcome to Dyslexia Awareness Week! This week, we celebrate the unique strengths and abilities of dyslexic individuals while promoting understanding and inclusivity. Dyslexia is not a hindrance; it is a valuable cognitive difference that brings a fresh perspective to the world. In this blog, we will explore the significance of dyslexia and its connection to the broader concept of neurodiversity. Let’s unlock the potential of dyslexic thinking and create a more inclusive world together.

Understanding Dyslexia:

Dyslexia is a genetic difference that affects approximately 1 in 10 people. It influences an individual’s ability to process information, especially in tasks like reading, spelling, and memorization. However, dyslexia also comes with a range of unique strengths, such as creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills. Embracing dyslexia means recognizing that individuals with dyslexia possess a distinctive cognitive profile that can contribute significantly to various fields and industries.

Neurodiversity:

Dyslexia is just one aspect of neurodiversity, which encompasses all cognitive differences. Neurodiversity celebrates the idea that every brain functions differently, resulting in a diverse range of abilities and talents. It includes conditions like dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and more. By embracing neurodiversity, we can foster environments where everyone feels valued and included, leading to innovative and holistic solutions.
